Flourish is an exhibition of textile art at Saugatuck Center for the Arts from November 2025 - May 2026 that explores interconnectedness and cyclicality of the living world. Plant-dyed, handcrafted fiber works invite us to explore the unique ecology of Southwest Michigan and to cultivate a sense of belonging within the family of things.

The piece above, titled Sowing Seeds, was created by developing a Call for Participation inspired by The Gift Economy by Robin Wall Kimmerer. I drafted a pattern and instructions for fabric sunflower seeds and invited public participation via social media, an email campaign, posters, and several sewing circles. In total, we received more than 1,600 seeds from all around the world which everyone who visits the exhibition is invited to take home with them for free as a literal and metaphorical representation of the generosity and abundance of the living world.
