Entanglement is an exhibition of dyed, woven, stitched and painted works at Australian Tapestry Workshop in Melbourne, Australia from August 28 - November 29, 2025.
This body of work explores foundational textile technologies - string, rope, nets, and knots - that have shaped our collective human experience. These forms are a demonstration of somatic knowledge, a representation of our many relationships with and as the living world.
Drawing from both the histories of art and the practices of the land, this work connects ancient technologies with contemporary ecological concerns, situating textiles as both record and living process.
The materials themselves - grown, foraged, or transformed through natural dyes - carry stories of place and memory, while the techniques reference a lineage of making that is at once personal, cultural, and universal.
